A+E Networks' Lifetime and Facebook Collaborate to Share The Recipe For Success with Aspiring Female Entrepreneurs

SINGAPORE August 1, 2016 – A+E Networks’ Lifetime® and Facebook have teamed up to help women in Asia realise their potential and create balanced, fulfilling lives. The companies today announced the launch of their first-of-its-kind multi-platform partnership with the aim of providing women the support and resources they need to help start their own business, specifically in the highly competitive food and beverage (F&B) industry.
The strategic partnership brings two campaigns together – Lifetime’s #RethinkWomen and Facebook’s #SheMeansBusiness initiatives. Lifetime encourages women to defy stereotypes and live life on their own terms with the #RethinkWomen campaign, which was rolled out in Asia in March this year to commemorate International Women’s Day. The initiative is very much in line with the brand’s positioning as a premium entertainment destination infused with passion and empowerment.
Facebook’s #SheMeansBusiness, which was launched in March, celebrates women who have built and run businesses. #SheMeansBusiness is an initiative, started by Facebook, to celebrate and empower women entrepreneurs across Asia Pacific. Through a series of workshops, training sessions and online resources, #SheMeansBusiness will arm women entrepreneurs with the knowledge, connections, skills and technology required to build and grow their business online.

As part of the campaign, Lifetime is reuniting four women from its wildly popular MasterChef franchise for an exclusive Facebook Live event to share their experiences and learnings from starting their own F&B business. The session will be led by Singapore-born Audra Morrice, who has used the competition series as a springboard to successfully build a culinary empire in Australia, with a television series, book and food range under her belt. The other guests include Malaysian caterer Jasbir Kaur, who has recently launched Spice Ranee encompassing a café, catering arm and distribution of artisanal products; Taiwanese model Blanche Chu, the proud owner of Chez Blanche Patisserie which serves French-inspired pastries; and Vietnamese-Australian waitress Karmen Lu from the current season of MasterChef Australia, who is looking to open her own dessert café. Besides dispensing invaluable advice, the quartet will also take questions from the audience during the live discussion.
